Would they have known you if you had answered the door? If it were people I didn't know, I'd feel comfortable enough to answer the door and tell them to go away. People I used to be "friends" with make me want to hide under the bed. I get my fill of confrontation at work.

My middle son has often asked for one on one time with me as a reward. It seems that he still views going to the store with Mom or watching a movie with Mom as a good time. I'm not a workaholic by any stretch of the imagination, and I doubt that he wishes we had less money, but it's not unreasonable to believe that a kid might view having more available parents as better than having wealthy but unavailable parents.

I'm so glad to hear that your kids are doing well. Is there any chance that you could get primary custody? It would be better for them to spend more time with you than with their mom if she is going to continue exposing them to the Borg.

116 Men in Black, Scissors Paper Rock
by designs inmonday begins the greatest demonstration of faith or suspended reality we have in modern times.
116 cardinals will begin the voting process by which they claim to listen to god speak to them in their prayers and meditations in electing the next pope.
voting 4 times per day sometimes they will whittle down the list of those names god is whispering in their ears.. from the usa, cardinals dolan and mahoney can only be described as giddy with their rock star like status tweeting the faithful back home the day to day excitement surrounding the conclave soon to be in session.. sort of a modern play on scissors paper rock or telegraph it takes several attempts to listen to god's choice and then the white smoke appears.. the gb must be taking a keen interest in this fascinating process of dupping millions of believers and wondering- how can we get away with this too.

On TV, some of the cardinals appear to have on pink and black outfits rather than red and black. I rather like the hot pink and black look, especially if they'd wear some tall platform boots with goldfish in the heels.

Target Controversy
by metatron inhttp://www.prisonplanet.com/dhs-contractor-apologizes-for-selling-shooting-targets-of-children.html.
i have searched for any debunking of this controversy and come up empty.
if true, this is shocking.. metatron.

I saw an article about it on the Daily Mail website. Seems like *some* law enforcement agencies felt the need to practice shooting "non-traditional" targets like pregnant women, children, and little old ladies. Of course, I realize that terrorists and other criminals are not above using children to carry out their objectives. Nor does pregnancy or age preclude criminal behavior. But to actively practice shooting at such targets seems to be a rather blatant statement that the police intend to shoot first and ask questions later.

Jehovah's Witnesses and Child Protection ? Not. Check this Out !
by flipper inthese quotes and excerpts i'm going to post here come from the " jehovah's witnesses - office of public information " from their website as it was posted on 12/2/07.
my wife and i have a lurking witness friend who sent us this information as she is very pro-active trying to fight child abuse from within the organization itself !
so get your barf bags ready- you are going to need them to stomach this " official policy " garbage from the wt society.

" Our procedures have been refined over time. Over the years, as we have noted areas where our policies could be strengthened , we have followed through. We are continuing to refine them. We do not believe that our system is perfect. No human organization is perfect. But we do believe that we have a strong, Bible-based policy on child abuse. Anyone in a responsible position who is guilty of child abuse would be removed from his responsibilities without hesitation. We certainly would not knowingly allow him to serve elsewhere , either because he moved or through a transfer. "
No human organization is perfect.
Did anyone else catch this? So who really is in charge? humans?

An elder called me.
by Julia Orwell inan elder who handled the minor matter with my husband a few weeks ago called to see how we were doing.
this guy genuinely is a gentle, kind, man whom the congregation loves.
he's the one everyone approaches because he never judges or condescends.

Escaping from the Borg is no simple feat. I completely understand the fear and anxiety that comes up when you have a run in with the elders or even just regular dubs. It does fade with time, especially when you learn the truth about the truth and realize that they don't have any real power ovver you anymore. I'm finally at the point that I can go about my business without fear, and it's a great feeling.

Elder's decisions with congregation funds £££
by 88JM inhave you ever been in a congregation (or circuit) where elders have made very bad choices on spending congegation funds?.
(summary if you don't want to read it all: elders planning to squander money on an expensive hall refurbishment while kh flat is falling apart).
i know there were assembly halls like dudley who spent a lot of money on their kitchens just before the food arrangements were done away with.

the congregation we used to attend built a new hall in 2006. the new hall came with a second large lot adjacent, so a lot of grass to mow. the idiot elders refused to buy a decent riding mower, instead they wasted more money on old (like 30+ years old) beat up tractors with mowing decks. half the time when Just Ron would go to mow the grass, the tractor wouldn't start, or something would break half way through. He'd end up borrowing my mom's riding mower to finish up. Also, the elders refused to pay someone to come in and smooth out the ditch along the edge of the property and put down rock to prevent weed growth. Therefore, some poor schmuck (aka Just Ron) would have to weed eat the entire thing because it was too steep to mow with the tractor. It ran down one entire edge of the property, so not a quick task. It was also usually muddy and wet, being a ditch. Just Ron would spend all day mowing and trimming out there, and 99% of the time the other brother assigned to mow that week wouldn't show up at all.
